El día miércoles 10 de agosto del presente año, con la participación de la DIRECCIÓN ZONAL 3 DEL MINISTERIO DE AMBIENTE AGUA Y TRANSICIÓN ECOLÓGICA, el CONSEJO PROVINCIAL DE CHIMBORAZO, las DIRECCIONES DE RIEGO Y AMBIENTE, el GAD MUNICIPAL DE RIOBAMBA, GUANO, CHAMBO, y el DIRECTORIO DE LA JURECH, se llevó a cabo la reunión en la cual se trató, sobre los principales problemas en materia ambiental en el canal principal del sistema de riego Chambo-Guano-Los Chingazos, para de esta manera encontrar soluciones y emitir acuerdos según las competencias de los participantes.
Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefecto de Chimborazo, junto a varias autoridades provinciales, asistió al posicionamiento de la nueva directiva de la Junta de Regantes Chambo-Guano “JURECH”, misma que abarca a 12.300 familias usuarias de los cantones Riobamba, Chambo y Guano, fortaleciendo la producción agrícola a 7.500 hectáreas.
“Felicito a la nueva directiva que asume este nuevo reto y extendiendo mi compromiso de seguir trabajando en beneficio de los agricultores y ganaderos del sector”, indicó Cruz.
Este es el sistema de riego más grande de la provincia y uno de los más importantes a nivel nacional, en donde, el Gobierno Provincial ha realizado trabajos a nivel de revestimiento de canales, mantenimiento, entrega de materiales, extensión, entre otros.
“Trabajar articuladamente con las autoridades, en especial con la Prefectura de Chimborazo, es lo más importante (…) 10 años se han perdido por no tener atención en mejoramientos y recubrimientos de canales, ahora se ha iniciado un arduo trabajo con una buena coordinación y destacando la buena labor que se está realizando”, expresó Kléver Pérez, presidente de la Junta General Chambo- Guano.
El acto de posesión estuvo a cargo de Paul Aucancela, responsable de la oficina técnica Riobamba del Ministerio Ambiente Agua y Transición Ecológica; quienes ahora están al frente de la organización son:

Riobamba, 29 de octubre 2018.- Ciento setenta y cinco productores regantes de la provincia de Chimborazo serán capacitados para fortalecer las capacidades en: circuitos alternativos de comercialización, buenas prácticas agropecuarias y planes de negocios.
De esta manera, los pequeños productores actualizarán sus capacidades técnicas y productivas, dentro del Programa de Formación Integral Agropecuaria, organizado por la Dirección Distrital del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), en Chimborazo, en coordinación con la Junta de Usuarios del Sistema de Riego Chambo – Guano (Jurech) y la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (Espoch).
La inauguración de este ciclo de capacitaciones se realizó en las instalaciones del MAG con la presencia del director Distrital de Chimborazo, Roberto Gortaire; Fernando Oleas, presidente de la Jurech, y Édgar Alvear, director Provincial de Agrocalidad.
El Director Distrital del MAG señaló a los participantes que esta actividad busca potenciar la experiencia y capacidades de los agricultores de esta organización, para fomentar una producción limpia, agroecológica y fortalecerse como actores de la economía local.
Fernando Oleas agradeció el compromiso y trabajo desarrollado por el Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería, mediante la formación en beneficio de los agricultores.
“Necesitamos ese apoyo y esa nueva visión de trabajo, para sacar adelante a la agricultura, y poder ser competitivos para entrar a nuevas cadenas de comercialización”, dijo Oleas.
La capacitación se realizará los sábados y domingos, hasta el 18 de noviembre, con la participación de pequeños y medianos productores de las parroquias de Licto, Punín, San Luis, Yaruquíes, Maldonado y San Gerardo.
La capacitación, coordinada a través de la Unidad de Gestión de Agricultura Familiar Campesina, tendrá una duración de 20 horas.
